Roleplay Rules (NEEDS UPDATE) 0f85e5482d1fba02b004c4140fe1cccc

Roleplay Rules
These rules and moral etiquette serve as a guideline to foster a respectful and enjoyable roleplay environment, aligning with the values of unity, respect, and reverence found in the Fangs of Fenris. By adhering to these principles, participants can contribute positively to the storytelling experience and build a united roleplay community.

Respect and Inclusivity
Show respect and inclusivity to all participants in the roleplay. Everyone's ideas and characters should be treated with kindness and acceptance. Encourage inclusivity and avoid exclusionary behavior. Everyone should have a chance to participate and shine in the story.

Lore Consistency
Respect and adhere to the established lore, backstory, and pack guidelines. Help maintain the cohesion of the roleplay world. Refer back to lore as needed and feel free to ask any questions for clarification. Stay true to the spirit of the roleplay. Ensure your roleplay aligns with the Fangs of Fenris.

Writing Requirements
Writing Quality
Strive for well-structured, literate, and coherent posts, using correct grammar and punctuation. Write with detail and depth to enrich the story.
∙ Narration and Perspective: To keep things uniform and clean, players should write out their roleplay in a narrative, third-person point of view.
The dappled she-wolf snarled, then raised her head.
∙ Speech: All wolves' speech should be written with quotations.
"Looks like Ripped Fang found your packmate," she growled.
∙ Thoughts and Feelings: Wolves can express themselves in more of a first-person perspective through thoughts and feelings by using italics.
Ripped Fang? Oh, wonderful. We've been rescued by the Alpha of the Tundra Frostfangs.
∙ Out-Of-Character (OOC) Commentary: You may use parentheses (( )) to quickly clarify or discuss something that is happening while mid-roleplay. Please keep any roleplay planning and discussion to the more suitable boards, or to private messages.
(OOC: Hey, just a heads up that my character might be a bit distant in this post. It's part of the ongoing storyline, and I hope it adds some depth to the interactions. Let me know if you have any concerns or if you'd like to plot something together!)

Post Requirements

∙ Minimum Post Length
All roleplay posts must be a minimum of one paragraph, consisting of 5-7 sentences, with a strong emphasis on detail, character actions, and narrative quality.
∙ No Double-Posting
If you need to add or change something, edit your original message.

Off-Limits
∙ Explicit Content: Avoid including explicit content, such as sexual themes or excessively graphic violence, in character backgrounds or roleplay interactions.
∙ Changing Core Lore Elements: Players should not alter core elements of the roleplay's lore or history without the consent of RPs or GMs.
∙ Inactive or Neglected Characters: Players are expected to maintain consistent activity while they have an active character in the roleplay. Inactive or neglected characters will be removed. A character is considered Inactive if they have not been used in 3 months. An RP Mod will reach out to the player prior to removal. The character will not be killed, but they will be marked "Hibernating" and removed from the pack to free up name availability.

IC Consequences
Accept the consequences of your character's actions as part of the roleplay's narrative.
No Metagaming: Metagaming is the use of knowledge that the player is aware of but that the character has not yet learned. Make sure you're roleplaying based on information that your character is aware of.
No God-Modding: God-modding is when a character features god-like abilities, such as invincibility, mind control, or other unrealistic powers that might not fit into the lore. Another form is when your character does something impossible that could kill them.
No Powergaming: Powergaming is the the act of using a game mechanic, external information, or a roleplay concept to favor a specific character or story and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage.
No Auto-Playing: Auto is when a player performs an action without giving the affected players a chance to respond to those around him. For example, you cannot type, "Meadow Fur makes a swift swipe at Swift Claw's hind legs and knocks him down," because this does not give Swift Claw's player a chance to react and possibly dodge the incoming attack.
No Power-Playing: Power-playing occurs when a player operates someone's character without the other player's consent. The most blatant example of this would be a player writing, "Your character falls off the cliff when he walks up to it." Each player is responsible only for the character(s) they are controlling.
Avoid Roleplay Blurring: There must be a clear separation between ‘in character’ (IC) and ‘out of character’ (OOC) behavior and knowledge. If your personal feelings begin to bleed into the roleplay, it is advised that you take a break from the server. If you continue to act based on OOC feelings, beliefs, disagreements or other information in character, especially in a toxic manner, you may be muted for a time, warned, or even banned from the server.
No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus: A Mary-Sue is a specific kind of character that has a lot of feats, and no flaws. A Mary-Sue is any character who’s too perfect, lacking realistic or logical flaws, or whose flaws do not affect them in any ways; any character who’s far too powerful, especially whose abilities exceed that which is possible for his/her position in the setting of the story, particularly if said character has abilities that do not exist within the boundaries of the story's canon universe.

NSFW Roleplaying
🚫 NSFW roleplay is not allowed.
Sometimes, two wolves in a pack are allowed to choose mates. However, mating should not be written in enough detail to be considered NSFW. An acceptable example of roleplay breeding would resemble this:
Blossom Breeze met Dappled Fang's gaze from across the clearing. The she-wolf had admired the young Alpha for as many moons as she could remember, his strong muscles rippling beneath his thick russet fur. They had begun courting since the recent Six-Moon Gathering, and now, in this very clearing, they would become mates for life.
Be sure to skip the more intimate details that would follow the scene above.
You can instead indicate a passage of time, such as:
Dappled Fang's sun-warmed felt pressed against Blossom Breeze as they napped in the clearing. The sun was now climbing in the sky, and the dawn patrol would be arriving back at the den soon. He lifted his head and nudged his new mate lovingly.
"We should get back to the den now," he whispered as she opened her eyes. "The pack will want to meet their new Alpha." His eyes glowed warmly.

Conflict Resolution
Address in-character conflicts through open and respectful communication, keeping personal conflicts separate from roleplay interactions to maintain a positive and immersive environment.

Character Deaths
While character deaths can be a compelling element of the roleplay experience, they should be executed thoughtfully and with the consent of all involved parties, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the storyline and promoting roleplay growth and development. Premature, overly frequent, or gratuitous character deaths are discouraged, and any character death should be discussed and agreed upon by all relevant roleplayers to ensure a fair and engaging narrative.
Additionally, 'insta-killing' other player's characters, without providing them with a reasonable opportunity to react, defend, or explore alternative outcomes, is not permitted, as it can disrupt the roleplay and create a negative experience for others.
